1 year RCLake anniversary

June 20 is our 1 year anniversary of RCLake home ownership. We have a full lake now and are enjoying the thrills of lake living.
To join her big brother, Todd Brian, we now have a new granddaughter, Natalie Lynn... born April 29, 2007. She is visiting us this week while her parents are on a mini-vacation to NY.
Kelly is now traveling with her company... in Mississippi this week (and last week, too).
Brady is in Oxford, Great Britian, this summer "studying abroad" w/ACU.
We continue to be blessed in so many ways.
Hope you have a wonderful summer!

Spring Roundup

maxandellen are up & running & getting ready for our first spring @ RCLake.
We are planning some landscape changes around our home. Our back yard is FULL of weeds... gotta Roundup 'em all.
Ellen has painted some of the rooms to jazz things up a little. Everything was sterile white... boring, boring, boring... when we moved here.
Max has had his first real estate listings.
Our family visits keep us busy on the highway, along with our Dallas business interests.
We go back to the Duncanville area monthly for our bridge group party and Ellen's Bunco Babes Extravaganza. Of course, about once per year, they have to drive to RCLake for the parties.
We have enjoyed getting to know and have been warmly received by our brothers & sisters at the Westhill congregation in Corsicana. Also, Ellen goes to a weekly Monday night ladies Bible study at cousin Kay Lynn's home in Corsicana.
The lake is filling back up from the drought... was down 15 feet & now only 7 feet down. We have more water under our boat dock than at any time since June 20, when we bought the house. Some neighbors are able to get their fishing boats out for the first time since last spring... lotsa smiles around the neighborhood.
We continue to enjoy country living, except for the inconveniences of distance. However, we are getting used to the travel. We are excited to be here and are getting ready for our first summer.
We'll try to do better updating our blog in the future.

Howdy from Kerens... home of "Big Tex"

"Howdy folks. This is Big Tex." If you ever attended the State Fair of Texas, you surely have heard these words come from the legendary, bigger than life "Big Tex". Unbeknownst to us before we moved here, Kerens is the home of Big Tex. "WOW", you say? Well, what can I say... It's about our only claim to fame, folks!!

We have lived here for about 4 months. It has been an interesting journey to get to this point after 22+ years in Duncanville. Our kids are grown, & we are now grandparents. A new and exciting phase of life is upon us. We look forward to a new beginning here in Kerens... we ARE now officially country folks.

This is our inaugural blospot posting. We'll see how it goes... should be a fun way to communicate with you our goings-on here at Richland Chambers Lake.

You are always welcome to check in to check up.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!
